THE second day of the inaugural Singapore Airshow 2008 was graced by the presence of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

His Majesty visited the Royal Brunei Technical Service's (RBTS) pavilion which showcased the Brunei International Defence Exhibition, Bridex 2009, scheduled to take place from August 11 to 16, 2009 at The Empire Hotel & Country Club. RBTS has been officially appointed by the Ministry of Defence to organise Bridex 2009.

The exhibition promises to provide a unique experience in defence business facilitation to exhibitors and visitors.

Earlier this week at the Singapore Airshow, RBTS signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ST Kinetics to formally allow both parties to work together in the field of vehicle maintenance excellence, with RBTS tapping into ST Kinetics expertise.

The monarch also visited ST Engineering, Thales and EADS amongst many other major defence exhibitors.

His Majesty then attended a luncheon hosted by Singapore's Minister for Defence, Teo Chee Hean.

The Singapore Airshow which runs from February 19 until 24 at the Changi Exhibition Centre has attracted 538 international exhibitors including RBTS, which is also using its participation at the Singapore Airshow to attract more international exhibitors for Bridex 2009, which is targeting 250 exhibitors from 30 countries.
